Safety
Safety is how mohto works. Not a slogan.
Here's what actually happens behind a mohto ride, in plain words. If something isn't finished, we say so.
Company
We check the company behind the car.
Fleet
We check every fleet, a group of cars.
Car
We check every car and its papers.
Driver
We check every driver before a first trip.
Trip
A PIN, live tracking and an emergency button.
Five checks, in order
Company, fleet, car, driver, trip. A ride is only offered when every check before it passes. Each has its own papers, its own expiry date and its own record of changes.
- A badge only shows while the check behind it is valid.
- When a document expires or a company is paused, the badge goes and the car stops getting trips.
- We don't show a trust score, and we don't invent badges.
Companies
A company applies, sends its documents and our team checks it before it can offer any trips.
- Checks expire. Companies have to renew them.
- The documents we ask for depend on the type of company. They can change as we confirm the rules.
- Every decision our team makes is logged and can't be edited later.
Fleets and cars
We check each fleet and each car separately.
- Car documents expire. When one does, the car stops getting trips until it's renewed.
- Companies see which documents expire soon, so they can renew in time.
Drivers
We check a driver before they take any trips, and only while that check is valid.
- Each driver is linked to one car, and trips only go to that driver in that car.
- Each day, drivers tell us if their car's air conditioning works. Riders see it as what the driver said, not something we checked.
- Riders see a driver's first name only. Never the surname or phone number.
Airport approval
An airport pickup needs more than a checked driver.
- An airport trip is only offered when the company, car and driver are all approved for that airport.
- Airport prices are fixed and shown before you book.
Your trip
Safety shouldn't stop when the trip starts.
- Trip PIN: your driver can only start the trip with the PIN from your app.
- Live tracking: follow your trip as it happens and share it with someone you trust.
- If the car goes far off route, our team gets an alert and takes a look. An alert doesn't mean something bad happened.
Emergencies
The emergency button is there for the whole trip.
- Press it and we log a real emergency and alert our team and the driver's company.
- It doesn't call the police or an ambulance for you. If you're in danger, call the emergency number first.
- We won't promise a response time we can't keep.
Issues and complaints
Every issue is logged and a person reviews it.
- A low rating or a complaint opens an issue for our team to review.
- Companies can see the issues that involve them.
- How often issues happen affects which cars we send first. It isn't a public score.
Payments
You see what you'll pay before you book.
- We break the price down before you book. Airport prices are fixed.
- Pay by card, bank transfer or your mohto wallet.
- Our finance team reviews every refund request.
Your information
We only keep what we need to run a safe trip.
- That's your name, phone number, trip details and your location during a trip.
- Drivers and riders can't see each other's phone numbers. They can message in the app.
- A gate code you share for a pickup is shown only to your driver, and only during the trip.
- Company and driver documents are stored securely. Only staff who need them can see them.
- We're still deciding how long we keep each type of information. We'll tell you in our privacy notice.
What we don't claim
- We don't claim any trip is free of risk.
- We don't publish a trust score or rank companies in public.
- We don't state a rule until it is confirmed.
