Terms

Terms of use

These are the rules for using mohto as a rider. They are written to be read.

Last updated 20 October 2026

Who we are

mohto is run by the company named at the bottom of this page. We connect you with checked companies, cars and drivers. Your ride is provided by the company and driver you see in the app.

Your account

  • You sign in with your phone number and a code we text you. Keep your phone and codes private.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Tell us at once if you lose your phone or number.

Prices

  • You see the price before you book. That is the price you pay unless you change the trip or add something yourself.
  • Tolls and parking added by your driver appear on your receipt. The app limits what a driver can add.
  • Where fuel prices move a lot, a small adjustment may apply and is shown in the price breakdown.
  • Airport rides, when available, have fixed prices shown before you book.

Paying

  • You can pay by card or bank transfer through our payment company, from your mohto wallet, or in cash where the app offers it.
  • If a payment is taken for a different amount from the price shown, we do not treat it as paid and we look into it.

Cancelling and refunds

  • You can cancel before your driver reaches you. We do not charge a cancellation fee at the moment. If that changes, we will show the fee before you confirm a cancellation.
  • If you were charged wrongly or a trip was not provided, ask for a refund in the app. A person reviews it. Refunds are paid into your mohto wallet unless we tell you otherwise.
  • If you dispute a card payment with your bank, we send the bank the records we hold for that trip.

How to behave

  • Be at the pickup point, give true details, treat drivers with respect, wear a seatbelt, and do not damage the car or carry anything unlawful.
  • We may suspend an account after a fair review. You can ask for the decision to be looked at again.

Safety

  • Use the safety button and trip sharing in the app if you need them. Our team is alerted, and so are the people you chose.
  • mohto is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call the national emergency number. We will help you where we can, but we cannot promise help will arrive.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits anything the law does not let us limit, including responsibility for death or injury caused by negligence. Our lawyers are finalising the rest of this section.

Complaints

Tell us in the app or at the help address below. We reply within two working days for simple issues and ten for complicated ones, and you can ask for a decision to be reviewed by someone who did not make it. You can also complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The law that applies

These terms are under the laws of Nigeria.
